Presidents Email – November 15, 2018
Welcome to my November update:
Hello from New Saint Andrews College. Our students and faculty are already firmly ensconced in the year’s second term (known around here as Nicea Term) with Thanksgiving just around the corner. As we get close to the end of 2018, it has been my email tradition to ask for end-of-the-year donations. This year I would like to do this in relation to introducing you to some key partners NSA has been thankful for over the years. So, beginning November 19 through December 17, you will be receiving one email per week from me discussing the college’s fundraising needs (Build NSA Campaign) and introducing you to an organization that we think might be worthy of your attention. Please bear with me, as I email you a little more frequently this November and December. I promise it will stop. Below are the dates for these emails along with NSA’s educational partners which will be featured:
November 19: ACCS and David Goodwin
November 26: Veritas Academy and Robert Cannon
December 3: Classical Conversations and Robert Bortins
December 10: Logos Online and Larry Stephenson
December 17: Wilson Hill Academy and Bob Donaldson
Sing and Play unto the Lord Concert
This Sunday, November 11, at 3:00 pm, Collegium Musicum, the NSA Orchestra, and a recorder consort will be performing Sing and Play unto the Lord. This concert will take place at First Presbyterian Church here in Moscow.
Following the week’s break for Thanksgiving, our NSA choir will be hosting its first-ever Christmas Feast in the tradition of the boar’s head feast on December 1 at 6:00 pm. Dr. Erb and our choir members have been working hard to prepare for this festive concert and dinner to be held in our unremodeled Cadillac Jack’s building. Remaining tickets are available here: https://newsaintandrewscollege.givingfuel.com/christmas-feast.
Early Application Scholarship Deadline
December 1 is also our early deadline for applicants for the 2019-2020 academic year in order to receive a $500 scholarship. Other dates for the application process can be found here: https://www.nsa.edu/admissions/deadlines/.
One of our distinctives at NSA is Friday afternoon Disputatio, where we wrap up our formal academic week and attempt to challenge our faculty and students. Disputatio recordings are posted on our website on the toolbar under “Media” for you to keep tabs on the pulse of NSA, and you can find them here: https://www.nsa.edu/media-page-v2/. This academic year, Pastor Wilson is giving a four-series presentation on the mission of the college. Browse around and enjoy other talks as well.
Save the Date National Honor Choir
Next year’s National Honor Choir will be June 11-15 at the annual ACCS Repairing the Ruins Conference in Atlanta. Information concerning auditions can be found here: https://music.nsa.edu/2019-honor-choir/. Note that all selected participants will receive a $1000 scholarship to NSA.
Save the Date CALLED Conference
We are excited to announce that Steve Jeffrey will be the featured speaker at the 2019 CALLED Conference which takes place July 15-20 here in Moscow. More information can be found at http://calledconference.ninja/.
