NSA 2017-18 Commencement Speaker - Robert Gagnon
New Saint Andrews College is pleased to announce that Dr. Robert Gagnon will be the 2017-18 Commencement Speaker. Commencement is this Thursday night at 7pm, at the Nazarene Church in Moscow Idaho. Dr. Gagnon will charge the students on: Courage, Clarity, and Conviction in Christian Sexual Ethics.
Robert A. J. Gagnon, PhD, is the author of "The Bible and Homosexual Practice" (Abingdon) and co-author of "Homosexuality and the Bible: Two Views" (Fortress). For 24 years he was a professor of New Testament at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He has a B.A. degree from Dartmouth College, an M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School, and a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary. His main fields of interest are Pauline theology and sexual issues in the Bible. He is an ordained elder at a Presbyterian Church (USA) in Pittsburgh. He is the author of The Bible and Homosexual Practice: Texts and Hermeneutics (Nashville: Abingdon Press, 2001; 520 pgs.); and, as a service to the church, provides a large amount of free material on the web dealing with Scripture and homosexuality.
The community is welcome to celebrate with us as we send off our graduating seniors. This year four students will be graduating with Associates Degrees, 24 with Bachelors Degrees, and five students will be graduating with Masters Degrees. Commencement will begin at 7pm this Thursday, May 7th, 2018.
