Faculty
Dr. Leithart is the College's senior theology scholar. A prolific author with interests ranging from biblical typology to Jane Austen, Dr. Leithart received his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at the University of Cambridge, England. He also holds an A.B. in English and History from Hillsdale College, and a Master of Arts in Religion and a Master of Theology from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He was honored with an appointment as an ARIHE Lecturer by the Association of Reformed Institutions of Higher Education (arihe.org) for the 2010-2012 academic years. He has authored several highly acclaimed books, including Defending Constantine, Deep Exegesis, Athanasius, Against Christianity, A Son to Me, A House for My Name, Blessed are the Hungry, Wise Words, Brightest Heaven of Invention, Heroes of the City of Man, and many more. He serves as a contributing editor for Touchstone and First Things magazines. His scholarly and popular articles have appeared in Pro Ecclesia, Journal of Biblical Literature, Westminster Theological Journal, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Birmingham News, First Things, Touchstone, and other publications. Dr. Leithart has been an editor and writer for American Vision in Atlanta, Georgia (1987-1989), and a pastor of Reformed Heritage Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, Alabama (PCA, 1989-1995). A member of the Northwest Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA), he serves as the senior (and founding) minister at Trinity Reformed Church, a CREC congregation, in Moscow.
