Douglas J. Wilson is a Senior Fellow of Theology at New Saint Andrews, a permanent member of the College’s Board of Trustees, and a member of the College’s Executive Council. He received a B.A. in Classical Studies, and a B.A. and an M.A. in Philosophy, all at the University of Idaho. He has taught high-school Latin, Greek, and classical literature at Logos School; at other colleges he has taught ethics and logic. Mr. Wilson is the author of the Letter from a Christian Citizen, a major national response to the recent best seller of militant atheist Sam Harris. Mr. Wilson' has also played a major role as one of the foremost defenders of the Christian faith by going head to head with noted atheist Christopher Hitchens in an online debated hosted by the international Christian magazine, Christianity Today. Mr. Wilson has authored numerous books related to education: The Case for Classical Christian Education, Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning, The Paideia of God, and Excused Absence: Should Christian Kids Leave Public School? He edited and contributed to Omnibus I: Biblical & Classical Civilizations (Veritas Press, 2005), Repairing the Ruins: The Classical and Christian Challenge to Modern Education. His works on theology include Mother Kirk, Reformed is Not Enough, and To a Thousand Generations. He has also written A Serrated Edge: A Brief Defense of Biblical Satire and Trinitarian Skylarking, and several children's books. Mr. Wilson is widely known for his books on marriage and family, and is a popular speaker at conferences on history, education, theology, and family issues. He is the editor of Credenda/Agenda magazine. Mr. Wilson has been the pastor of Christ Church, Moscow, for more than 30 years. He also sits on the governing boards of Logos School, Moscow, and the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ex officio). He and wife, Nancy, have three grown children and a bunch of grandchildren, all of whom live in Moscow.
