Presidents Email – April 15, 2018
Welcome to my April update:
I hope that your Easter was a happy one – what a joy to celebrate our risen Lord again. As we wrap up our March Madness e-fundraiser, many thanks again to those who have chosen to support it.
In any tournament, such as last night’s championship game, the final round is for the biggest and the best – which means that this week we talk about our biggest need. As you know, we have purchased a 30,000 square-foot shuttered nightclub formerly known as Cadillac Jack’s (CJ’s) at 112 N. Main. Our goal is to redeem it by a remodel that will take it from a tawdry past to a future in which it serves as a venue for classrooms, events, and musical performances that glorify God.
Demolition began at 112 N. Main over NSA’s Spring Break. You will no doubt rejoice with us in the knowlege that there are no more bars on the premises, and that the stripper pole will be coming down soon. Lord willing, we will be holding at least one class there by this August.
We appreciate all the support we’ve already gotten for this project – if you are in a position to help us move forward with it, please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or donate here online.
Please join us for our annual President’s Dinner on May 9th. Vintner Gino Cuneo will pair his Walla Walla wines with Chef Mark Cuneo’s fine cuisine for what is sure to be an adventure in fine dining. Seats are limited, so please RSVP by the purchase of your tickets HERE.
Called Conference Discount Deadline Extended!
Early CALLED registration (and the related discount) has been extended through May 1st to accommodate those who begged and pleaded for extra time to make their summer plans. This week-long conference, held July 16th through the 20th in Moscow, Idaho, features several nationally known speakers who will encourage and challenge high schoolers (ages 14 to 19) to become cultural leaders. After May 1st the conference fee will increase by $100, so get your high school kids registered soon.
Summer is almost upon us, despite our snow in Moscow yesterday. In addition to the CALLED conference seen above, we offer two summer music programs – one for kindergarten through high school, and the other for graduate students. Please visit the links below; email us at email@example.com with any questions.
Music Camp registration IS OPEN for the 2018 Summer Music Camp, to be held July 9-July 14th, 2018. Details are at: https://music.nsa.edu/music-camp/#
Chenaniah Summer Music Institute: This graduate level program includes Christian Kodaly training, and will be held July 23-August 3rd. I highly recommend it for music teachers. Visit here for details: https://music.nsa.edu/cmi/
The priority deadline for Camperdown Writers’ Kiln has come and gone, but our Director, Nate Wilson, said you can still apply through May 15th. This MFA is for the serious writer; since only five students per year will be accepted, entry into the program will be quite competitive.
