Gordon Wilson accepts new full-time position as Fellow of Natural Philosophy
December 13--The New Saint Andrews faculty and administration are pleased to announce that Mr. Gordon Wilson, an assistant professor of biology at Liberty University since 1991, has accepted a new full-time post at New Saint Andrews College as a Fellow of Natural Philosophy. He will begin teaching at NSA in fall 2003. He was the unanimous choice of the faculty search committee and voting faculty.
Mr. Wilson, a Moscow native, is completing his Ph.D.in Environmental Science and Public Policy at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. His research focuses on the reproductive ecology of the eastern box turtle.

Mr. Wilson will bring extensive teaching experience in the natural sciences to New Saint Andrews. In addition to teaching at Liberty University for 12 years, he has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, VA, as a lab instructor at the Univeristy of Idaho, a biology instructor at Logos School, Moscow, and a science instructor at Intermountain Christian School, Salt Lake City, UT.

New St. Andrews Receives National Accreditation Candidacy Approval
The commissioners of the Transnational Association for Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) unanimously approved New St. Andrews College for accreditation candidacy at the Associations annual convention in Nashville, TN, Wednesday, November 6.
The TRACS decision recognized New St. Andrews progress toward institutional accreditation. The classical and Christian college began in 1994 with 4 students. Today 121 students from 29 states, Canada and Mexico are enrolled in its undergraduate liberal arts and culture degree program.
TRACS is a national accrediting agency, based in Forest, VA recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council of Higher Education Accreditors (CHEA)
TRACS commission chairman Samuel R. Chand praised New St. Andrews for its high quality classical academic program and rapid progress toward full accreditation as a relatively new school. Roy Atwood, dean of the College, represented New St. Andrews before the TRACS accreditation commission. Were obviously delighted to receive this unanimous vote of confidence in New St. Andrews College, Atwood said. This is well-deserved recognition by the wider academic community for the high quality of the Colleges programs, faculty, and students.
The TRACS evaluation team visited the Moscow College in early September. Its report, the Colleges own Self Study, and response to the site report were used by the TRACS commissioners to make their assessment of New St. Andrews College.
The College became one of about 10 TRACS candidates for accreditation. Thirty colleges and universities are accredited by TRACS. For more information about TRACS, see www.tracs.org. Contact: Russell Fitzgerald, TRACS Executive Director.
