Mr SchlectChristopher R. Schlect, M.A.

Fellow of History, 1996-,
and Academic Dean, 2004-

Christopher R. Schlect is a Fellow of History at New Saint Andrews College. He also serves the College as the Acting Academic Dean. He is a teaching elder at Christ Church. He holds a B.A. in History from Washington State University and holds an M.A. in History from the University of Idaho.

Mr. Schlect's interests in history, particularly church history, are wide-ranging, but his most recent research has been in the role of J.Gresham Machen in the Presbyterian schism of the early 20 century and its impact in the Pacific Northwest (see link at right).

He he has also written the Critique of Modern Youth Ministry and The Christian Worldview and Apologetics. He is a contributing editor of Credenda/Agenda and has written for Table Talk and Classis. He also contributed to Repairing the Ruins: The Classical and Christian Challenge to Modern Education.

Mr. Schlect taught at Logos School for more than 10 years prior to coming to New Saint Andrews College.

Mr. Schlect and his wife, Brenda, have five children. Mrs. Schlect is the College’s Bursar and Bookstore Manager.
