Dr. McIntosh is Associate Provost , a Fellow of Humanities, a member of the College's graduate faculty, and the coordinator of the College's junior-year, team-taught, integrated humanities course, Traditio Occidentis.

Dr. McIntosh joined the College faculty in 2007 after pursuing his M.A. (2004) and doctoral studies in philosophy at the University of Dallas (2009). He received his B.S. in Philosophy from University of Idaho in May 2001. His doctoral dissertation entitled, The Flame Imperishable: Tolkien, St. Thomas, and the Metaphysics of Faërie(2009) wason the philosophical perspectives J.R.R. Tolkien.

He is the author of "Ainulindalë: Tolkien, St. Thomas, and the Metaphysics of the Music" (2010). He presented  “'I Have Kindled You with the Flame Imperishable:' J.R.R. Tolkien’s Thomistic Metaphysics of Faërie" at The World and Christian Imagination: Lilly Fellows Program National Research Conference in 2006.
